Walkinshaw Performance, a part of HSV-owner Tom Walkinshaw's business stable, is set to reveal its latest power package at the Australian International Motor Show next month.

Dubbed Walkinshaw Performance Supercar Mk2, the new HSV-based model will be limited to a run of just 23 units, celebrating the 23rd anniversary of the original VL Commodore-based Walkinshaw's unveiling at Sydney in 1987.

“Normally limited editions are simply a special badge or sticker,” Walkinshaw Performance's National Sales Manager Tony Harris said.

“But we wanted to really celebrate our heritage and perhaps even the ‘birth’ of the modern day ‘Walky’ by bringing together a package of brand new enhancements all backed by the WP warranty.”

Technical details have yet to be revealed, although Harris said the Supercar Mk2 will feature new Walkinshaw enhancements, with "something special" under the bonnet and upgraded suspension, brakes and wheels.

The Australian International Motor Show will be held at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre in Darling Harbour. The show opens at 5pm on Friday, 15 October and  runs until 6pm on Sunday, 24 October.
