Volkswagen Scirocco May Find Its Way To Australia: Rumour

After endless wrangling and head-butting with head office, Volkswagen Australia may be on the cusp of delivering the seductive Scirocco to Australian showrooms.

A source within Volkswagen Group Australia allegedly told an inquisitive enthusiast that the Scirocco is "currently undergoing the various tests to ensure the vehicle is able to withstand the Australian conditions".

The source also said that should the Scirocco satisfy these tests, the model would likely be introduced later this year or in early 2010.

We're awaiting confirmation from VW's local arm, but it's no secret that the Scirocco has been on Volkswagen Group Australia boss Jutta Dierk's wishlist since the model was first unveiled. Has her tenacity paid off? We'll find out soon.
