Victorian Police were so impressed with the Jeep Wrangler they used last year that they have decided to give its bigger brother a try. Continuing their association with Jeep the Wrangler Unlimited assigned the Mt Hotham, Mt Buller and Falls Creek snow fields beat last year has been replaced with the all-new 2008 Jeep Cherokee.

The forces new 4WD was put through its paces for the first time on Mt Buller over the weekend.

“We had the Jeep Wrangler last year and thought that we should continue our partnership as the Jeep was perfect for the alpine awareness program; and fantastic on the beach during the summer.” said Sergeant Adrian Keltie of the Victoria Police of the Media & Corporate Communications Department.

The new Cherokee is an operational police vehicle that will be used by the Victorian Police throughout the 2008 snow season to promote snow safety and target drink driving.
