JOINING THE LEXUS C-Segment hybrid LF-Ch concept on the stand, the Japanese luxury carmaker will roll out all three of its updated LS, GS and IS model lines at the Frankfurt Motor Show this month.

The LS receives the greatest number of changes with a new grille, front bumper, rear bumper and mirror casings revitalising its exterior. Interior appointments and equipment levels have also been upgraded.

The enhancements extend to the driving dynamics with revisions to the flagship LS 600h's hybrid drive system to improve power delivery.

The GS range also receives some subtle exterior enhancements, and gains a horizontally slatted upper grille and 'eggcrate' lower grille.

Audio and navigation systems are updated for 2010, and the new GS will  benefit from improved safety features.

Like the GS, the 2010 IS range's external updates are mild. A new grille design is the most prominent change, but more changes lurk beneath the skin.

The availability of a factory-option F-Sport performance package will soon be available for the IS 250 sedan, bringing with it numerous handling improvements - as well as a few aesthetic enhancements.

The performance flagship of the Lexus range, the IS F (see TMR's IS F review) will receive a new stability control-based limited-slip differential system, which brakes each rear wheel to control wheelspin under hard acceleration. Entertainment and navigation systems will be improved for 2010.

More detailed information on each of Lexus's model lines will be released at the Frankfurt Motor Show on September 15.
