Toyota has announced this week that it will unveil a new Yaris-based 'HSD' hybrid concept at next month's Geneva Motor Show. The new concept's debut will follow the unveiling of the larger Auris (Corolla) HSD concept at the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show.

Little has been revealed about the Japanese carmaker's latest hybrid concept, however a single cropped teaser image reveals a number of hybrid- and concept-specific styling changes.

It is also clear that this new concept will be built on the brand-new 2011 Yaris, launched in Japan late last year and expected to make its Australian debut in the second half of this year.

Toyota has also confirmed that it will reveal a European-market version of its new Prius V people-mover, equipped with seating for seven rather than the regular model's five seats.

Both concepts will join the FT-86 II at Geneva, billed as a pre-production look at the entry-level rear-wheel-drive sports car's styling before its market launch early next year.
