One of Britain's premier motoring events will feature an extra draw card to wow the fans this year, as Top Gear goes live and kicks off a UK and world tour during the MPH prestige and performance motor show.

Co-hosts Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May, made the announcement in typical Top Gear style, arriving at the press release by way of a large black army tank, emblazoned with the Top Gear and MPH logos.

The trio will perform a seventy-five minute live performance in front of up to 95,000 enthusiasts, on ten separate occasions across the eight days and two venues planned for the UK leg. The team will take on crazy challenges, get involved in some rather interesting stunts and generally engage in all manner of motoring shenanigans - The Stig will even be participating.

If the Top Gear team don't take your fancy, then you'll have to make do with the bevy of performance machinery on display. This years MPH will feature the A-Z of automotive exotica, from the likes of Alfa Romeo, Ariel, Aston Martin, Audi, Bentley, Bugatti, Caparo, Farbio, Ferrari, Gumpert, Jaguar, Koenigsegg, Lamborghini, Lotus, Maserati, McLaren, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Pagani, Porsche, Rolls-Royce, Shelby, Spyker, and TVR.

Now given this is a world tour some of you might be asking when we'll be seeing all of this automotive goodness down-under. There were whispers late last year that we'd be seeing the Top Gear/MPH bonanza in 2008, and while we don't have all the details, we've been able to confirm that MPH will appear in Sydney, in February 2008.  Looks like it's time for another TMR trip up north!

Stay tuned.
