Episode six of the Australian Top Gear franchise aired last night and if the ratings are anything to go by, the Aussie show's star could well be on the rise. Now, it's not unusual for ratings to bounce around a bit for new shows, before they eventually settle into a pattern, but 200,000 more viewers tuning in this week (compared to last) is a nice bounce.

So, what did we learn? Well, Charlie Cox thinks that the Holden Barina has been based on a Korean car for the last 10 years (it is now but it wasn't for most of them), and despite driving a Range Rover, Audi Q7 and Lexus LX570 3,000 klms through the heart of Australia, the Top Gear boys had little to say about the actual cars. However, in a promising change of pace, they did (for the first time) actually choose a winner from this week's comparison, and that my friends is a break-through!

Unfortunately, Charlie ruined it all by referring to the AMG SL 63 as being epic. Don't be surprised if Charlie turns up with a perm, a comfortably bad dress sense and begins drawing breath during not-so-subtle pauses for effect in future episodes.
