The Toyota & Subaru Merry-Go-Round: RWD Entry-Level Sports Car Project Still On Track

On Sunday we reported on a dubious article posted by the Detroit Free Press which claimed Toyota and Subaru had confirmed that their joint entry-level rear-wheel-drive sports car project had been put on “indefinite hold” .

Now, according to Inside Line and “knowledgeable PR sources in Japan” , we should ignore that news and keep our spirits high – again – because the project is still on track.

"The project is still on track, according to the info I have on hand," said a spokesperson for Toyota.

While it’s true the production date has been postponed to “2012 or later” , we can at least rest assured (for now) that the ‘Toyobaru’ is on the way.
