What you're looking at is the German-Built Hammel Red Giant, an all-purpose crusher that, as you can plainly see, eats engine blocks for breakfast.

It's got 522kW of metal-smashing power from its 18.0 litre CAT diesel engine, which turns those evil-looking blades via a hydraulic drive. It'll shred 60 tonnes worth of car bodies in an hour, and it's got no problems dealing with those pesky engine blocks.

Granted, the ones you see here are made out of aluminium and not iron, but you've got to admit: it sure is terrifying arousing fascinating watching the Red Giant make all that metal disappear.
