Suzuki Motorcycles has announced the addition of its city-sized TU250X to its Australian line-up.

Arriving in dealerships soon, the retro-styled TU250X features a 249cc, single-cylinder, fuel-injected, air-oil cooled SOHC engine. It’s targeted to the city rider, but will also appeal – you’d reckon – to beginning riders.

"The Suzuki TU250X is the ideal motorcycle for a wide range of riders who are seeking a timeless and classic machine," Perry Morison from Suzuki Australia said.

"The TU250X has proved very popular in other markets and I am pleased that we could introduce it into Australia."

The Suzuki TU250X's single pumper with CDI ignition system produces strong low rpm torque, ideal in stop/start riding. Transmission is a constant mesh five-speeder and braking duties fall to a front disc with dual-piston caliper and a drum rear.

With a low seat height, upright riding position and good range from its 12-litre tank, the TU250X should find friends among the commuting classes.

The retro styling looks sharp, with lots of chrome setting off the headlight case, speedometer cover, tail-light housing, exhaust and wheels.

Due to arrive in April, the Suzuki TU250X comes with a $5,990 RRP (plus on-roads) and is backed by Suzuki's two-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty.
