SUZUKI AUSTRALIA HAS confirmed that the upcoming Kizashi mid-size sedan will be arriving here in the first half of next year.

Takeshi Hayasaki, Managing Director of Suzuki Australia, recently told TMR that we can expect to see the sharply-styled sedan in local showrooms in the second quarter of 2010, with the car's precise launch date still to be determined.

Suzuki will target the Kizashi squarely at the two dominant forces in the mid-size passenger car segment: the Mazda6 and the Honda Accord Euro.

With a 2.4 litre four cylinder motor and a 3.0 litre V6 slated to be fitted to Aus-market Kizashi's (an AWD V6 may also eventuate), Suzuki will be hoping it can snare a substantial share of the segment.

Suzuki is remaining coy about how many Kizashis it expects to sell; however the positive reaction that the Kizashi 3 Concept received at last year's Sydney Motor Show, suggests that it could be onto a winner.
