SUBARU AUSTRALIA HAS announced this week that it will continue the previously limited driveaway price of $24,990 on Impreza R sedan and hatch models.

The Impreza R's new ongoing national price follows the Federal Government's five percent import tariff reduction, Subaru joining the likes of Honda and Mazda in passing savings on to customers.

Before announcing the new driveaway pricing, Subaru Australia previously offered the manual version of the Impreza R from between $26,400 to $27,164, depending on location.

Subaru Australia Managing Director Nick Senior said the new pricing is one of two ways the Japanese carmaker is improving value for its customers.

“We are clearly applying the Federal Government’s duty reduction in two ways: via increased equipment and specification levels on our newest models, including Liberty and Outback, and through tactical driveaway pricing programs, such as with Impreza R models," Mr Senior said.

“In the case of new generation Liberty and Outback, we also managed to maintain or reduce recommended prices of most variants. This is despite the incredible currency pressures of the past 12-18 months.”

Earlier this year, Subaru Australia announced similar savings, brought about through the company's currency hedging against a strengthening Yen.
