Subaru's new Impreza Design Concept has been previewed further in a new promotional video this week, following the concept's unveiling at last week's LA Auto Show.
Looking more like an evolution of the Liberty sedan, Subaru says the Impreza Design Concept hints at a future model - although the company has offered little more of substance than that.
If nothing else, the Impreza Design Concept shows that Subaru's new 'Confidence in Motion' slogan represents big changes for the Japanese carmaker.
"Built to express possible future Subaru design elements, the Impreza Design Concept conveys a sporty and lively "four-door coupe" style," a Subaru statement reads.
"The designers blended two ideas – 'dynamic flow and confident stance' – to showcase Subaru's engineering core values of dynamic performance, safety, driving enjoyment and quality."
With room for four occupants, the Impreza Design Concept is powered by Subaru's new third-generation 2.0 litre naturally-aspirated boxer engine, mated to the company's Lineartronic CVT transmission.
Performance and economy figures have not been offered, although they are unlikely to differ from the figures revealed with the new engine in September.
