Rumour has been rife across the auto blogosphere in the last week and it has finally culminated in Subaru confirming a production version of their Exiga seven-passenger wagon concept. Subaru provided their usual tasty glimpse by way of a teaser image yesterday.
The first thing we noticed was the barest hint of a WRX style bonnet scoop suggesting that like the concept the Exiga will be powered by a turbo-charged version of one of Subaru’s boxer four-cylinder engines either a 2.0-litre or 2.5-litre. The concept was powered by a 2.0-litre turbo unit.
It appears that Subaru will be marketing the Exiga as an up-market alternative to the usual crossover vehicle, combining elements of both the Liberty and Tribeca with a dash of turbo performance and the usual Subaru Symmetrical All Wheel Drive. Qualities that guarantee it will be a hit with new car buyers in Australia should it head our way.
Subaru have been nice enough to follow up the teaser image with an official 'teaser video' on their website giving us even more of a sneak peak prior to the new cars unveiling in the coming weeks.
