New Euro IV Kyron Delivers On All Fronts With Lower Prices To Boot

SsangYong has launched a new version of its Kyron SUV and along with sharper pricing SsangYong are claiming improved performance and increased comfort. SsangYong are calling the updated version the Euro IV Kyron no-doubt because it features a revised Euro IV emission compliant engine.

The new Euro IV Kyron is the first facelift for the mid-range SsangYong SUV since its launch in early 2006 and includes a number of significant changes to styling, trim and specification.

In addition to being Euro IV emission compliant the new specification engine features revised engine mapping that has resulted in improved driveability. As with its predecessor the Euro IV Kyron carries over independent front suspension, five link rear suspension and an electronically controlled part time four wheel drive system.

Exterior styling has been improved with new headlight and taillight clusters, a new bonnet, a new design grille and larger front air take with mesh guard, as well as a cleaner, more contemporary rear styling with a larger tailgate window.

The new interior design is more driver oriented with a new instrument cluster design, better night time illumination, a new steering wheel fitted with shift controls for the five speed T-Tronic automatic transmission, revised cloth seat trim, a new more elegant dash design with all black trim replacing dark grey on the previous model and a folding cover and light added to front sunvisors.

"Euro IV Kyron is a more focussed and sharper vehicle all round and I am sure will have a wider appeal to mid range SUV customers, particularly when you consider the added value it offers while retaining its already strong pricing levels. The new model has better NVH thanks to a program of improvement and refinement by SsangYong engineers, delivering a quieter and smoother ride as well as better handling," said Brad Larkham, SsangYong Australia general manager sales and marketing.

A new alloy wheel design delivers a more contemporary appearance as well as being stronger and lighter than the previous model.

The new Euro IV Kyron is priced from $32,990 rrp for the two-litre turbo diesel manual, $35,990 rrp for the two-litre turbo diesel auto and $39,990 rrp for the top of the line 2.7 litre turbo diesel auto.

All new SsangYong vehicles sold in Australia feature a 3 year/100,000 kilometre factory warranty with SsangYong Assist 24/7 roadside assistance.
