We've been eagerly awaiting this moment since the R35 GT-R rolled onto the scene (and so, no doubt, will some of you): so, sweating with anticipation, we bring you South Side Performance's (SSP) GTR820RR Turbo Upgrade for the R35.

For around USD$6500 (exchanging your stock turbos in the process), SSP will machine your housings and fit Garrett ball-bearing cores plus an upgraded actuator. This results in faster spooling and more power at stock boost levels or, as we'd prefer, the ability to run much higher boost levels than the stockers could handle.

The GTR820RR kit is efficient up to 32psi and can support 612kWs at the flywheel, that's around 820hp in the old money, hence the name. This represents excellent bang for buck and, when combined with a PPG transmission upgrade, should see R35s running into the high 'nines' in the future.

Owners will be without turbos for a week while the upgrade happens but, when the units are returned, a 53.8mm turbine wheel and 68mm billet aluminum compressor wheel will ease the pain of the separation. Only one line is modified during the process and SSP explains that the turbos can be reinstalled with basic tools and equipment.

If you'd like to get your mitts on the GTR820RR kit, head over to www.GT-RR.com to place an order. We'd be happy to hear about your reviews on the results for anyone taking the plunge.
