Skoda produces two-millionth Octavia

Škoda’s Octavia reached a milestone today, when the two-millionth version of the popular model rolled off the production line in Vrchlabí (no we can’t pronounce it either). The two-millionth Octavia was a Silver Octavia Scout 2.0 TDI.

Å koda’s Octavia reached a milestone today, when the two-millionth version of the popular model rolled off the production line in Vrchlabí (no we can’t pronounce it either). The two-millionth Octavia was a Silver Octavia Scout 2.0 TDI.

Å koda Auto has been producing the modern Octavia since 1996 (the very first generation Octavia was produced in the nineteen-sixties). In 2004, a new generation Octavia was launched and it was this model that reached Australia in 2007.

In addition to the current generation Octavia, Å koda continue to produce the old model now named the ‘Octavia Tour’ as it remains extremely popular with customers.

The production of the Škoda Octavia Tour takes place in Vrchlabí with assembly points in Škoda's plants in India, Russia, Kazakhstan, the Ukraine and Bosnia.

The production of the new generation Å koda Octavia takes place in Mladá Boleslav with assembly points in India, Russia, the Ukraine and Bosnia.

Since 2007, the Octavia has been manufactured in China under a licence production arrangement. The Å koda Octavia is called Laura in India and Ming Rui in China.

Both models are available with AWD, the Octavia is also available in the RS sports version as well as the Octavia Scout.

Altogether Å koda has produced 1,315,000 first-generation Octavias and 685,000 second-generation Octavias since its market launch several years ago.

Å koda Auto delivered 72,529 Octavia Tour vehicles and 237,422 Å koda Octavias in 2007.
