RECENTLY APPOINTED Lamborghini's first Australian ambassador - a duty shared internationally with the likes of David Beckham and Frank Sinatra - cricketing legend Shane Warne has picked up a Lamborghini Murcielago as a long-term loan car.
It's not Warnie's first Lambo, however. The 'King of Spin' already has a Gallardo Superleggera in a collection that includes a pair of Mercedes four-wheel-drives, a Ferrari 360, two BMWs and a Holden VK Commodore.
Speaking with The Times of London some time ago during one of his country cricket seasons, Warne said that if he hadn't made it in cricket, he would have pursued car racing.
Of course, Warne's early sporting career also saw him try out for - and get rejected by - the St. Kilda AFL football club.
Reports last year suggested that Warne would join the cast of Top Gear Australia when it moves to the Nine Network this year, but no new information has come to light in the months since.
