While the official unveiling is not due until the Paris Motor Show, SEAT has been kind enough to reveal a handful of pics and a few specifications on its up-coming hot hatch, the Ibiza Cupra. Destined for the European market - drivers there are becoming spoiled for choice - the Cupra features the latest version of Volkswagen's 1.4-litre TSI engine.

The Cupra generates a punchy 133kWs from its supercharged and turbocharged four-banger, putting power down to the front wheels via a seven-speed DSG gearbox. ESP and Traction control are thankfully included as standard.

Sitting on 17-inch wheels and stiffer suspension, the exterior signals the Cupra's sporting intent. A new front bar features a prominent grill and air dam (with the obligatory fog-lights) while the rear treatment features a faux diffuser and single large exhaust tip that hides twin pipes inside.

Official pricing and specifications have not been released as yet but expect the Cupra to be priced between AUD$30k-$35k. If that pricing is correct, would you want to see the Ibiza Cupra available locally?
