This time its Saab’s turn to feel the pain, as three new images of Saab’s Turbo X hit the net just shy of its official Frankfurt Motor Show unveiling.

The Saab Turbo X is the tasty little limited edition Swedish hot-rod that Saab will be using to introduce their new XWD Haldex AWD system. The trick XWD system is capable of splitting the Turbo X’s drive front to rear and side to side care of a new electronic limited slip differential.

According to the folks over at Trollhattan Saab the new XWD system is so effective the Turbo X has outrun Porsche’s 911 Turbo on a slalom course during testing – a feat not to be sneezed at.

Although official details of the Turbo X have not yet been released by Saab, we do know that it will feature a 2.8-litre V6 developing 209kW/280hp and 400Nm endowing the Turbo X with enough mumbo to rocket it from 0-100 km/h (62mph) in 5.7 seconds. Trollhatten Saab believe that the Turbo X will be a manual transmission only affair.

Saab will be limiting production to 2000 units.
