According to a report by Carscoop, Lotus's new 2+2 coupe will apparently make its debut at the upcoming British Motor Show sporting an "Evora" badge on its posterior. Provisionally known as "Project Eagle", the true name of the low-slung Lotus remains a mystery, however if Carscoop are on the money with their prediction (and they've been remarkably accurate with other Lotus rumours in the past) then Evora could soon become the next buzzword in the world of lightweight sports cars.

So, what does Evora actually mean? For those of you that don't know (and I'm betting that's pretty much all of you), Evora is a city in the South of Portugal known primarily for its rich history, medieval architecture and balmy weather. The question of how that applies to a sports car is better answered by Lotus themselves.

Personally I was rather fond of the "Eagle" moniker, however with that beautiful body, 206kW Toyota engine and the ability to cover the 0-100kph dash in under five seconds, I'm sure it'll be a hit - no matter what the name is.
