While the folks at Maybach dwell on better times, those dapper folk from Goodwood in the UK have broken out the crystal flutes and are busy toasting their recent sales success. Take some English old-school establishment, mix in a healthy dose of German engineering and it seems you can have a sales success ? not a cheap one either, with the base Phantom starting at AUD 915,000.

Rolls-Royce has announced its recent quarterly sales figures and they show surprisingly strong sales growth. Sales of Rolls-Royce cars to the end of September 2007 are up 22 percent when compared with the same period in 2006.

As a result, Rolls-Royce has announced additional shifts and extended working hours at their manufacturing plant in Goodwood, UK which is currently working at full production. Forward orders for the four-door models and new Phantom Drophead Coup? extend through 2008 and Rolls-Royce are not expecting sales to slow anytime soon.

Growth is expected to continue with the recent announcement that Rolls-Royce will build a series version of the two-door, four-seat experimental car, 101EX.
