Despite the fact we’re yet to see the final production version of the ‘Mini-Rolls’ Rolls Royce 200EX concept, the rumour mill is already working overtime on the idea of a convertible and coupe based on the same platform.  And why not?

Inspired by the Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead, our (quick and lazy) concept illustration offers an idea of how the 200EX production model might appear in two-door convertible form.

According to German auto mag AutoTelegraaf, a convertible and coupe version of the 200EX concept will hit the motorshow circuit not long after the production version is revealed.  But not a minute before: after all, you’ve got to keep the fans coming back for more.

Rumour or not, this is one bit of gossip that makes good sense to us, with the 200EX already being essentially a ‘micronised’ version of the Phantom, it’s only good business sense to make the most of the platform and 'give the people what the people wants'.

AT also went so far as to suggest the production version of the 200EX might be officially titled Silver Ghost. This name harks back not only to a family of Rolls’, but also to the open-top 1907 40/50 HP Silver Ghost the company coated in aluminium paint with silver-plated fittings to impress buyers.
