While spy shots of Porsche's four-door Panamera have been slipping thick and fast through the web, it's not until now that our friends in Stuttgart have seen fit to provide an awaiting public with official imagery. While the four images released reveal little of the Porsche Panamera Gran Turismo - now officially named - the move kicks off the beginning of the marketing campaign. This makes it just a matter of time before we get the full-monty.

Porsche's accompanying press release directs readers to the new online magazine for the Panamera, you can reach it here, which includes additional images and videos of early prototypes and test mules.

The magazine launch will satiate Porsche pundits until the October 20th kick off for the advertising campaign. Then, Porsche will begin running two page advertisements in leading news and business magazines. Meanwhile, Porsche will continue to reveal tantilising tidbits of the Panamera in each of its ads in the lead up to the full-blown launch, sometime around next year's Geneva Motor Show.

Not much is gleaned from the new images but it's obvious that the Panamera's front end is typical Porsche. The sketches however lend some insight into how the Panamera goes about providing ample seating for four adults while retaining a sports car persona.

Porsche make no qualms about the Panamera's intent.

"Panamera (is) the ideal family-friendly Gran Turismo without the slightest compromise."

Whether the public shares Porsche's opinion remains to be seen. Of course, with the marketing campaign beginning to build momentum, it won't be long until the Panamera is revealed for all to see, and - more importantly - to judge.
