Pontiac G8 imminent stateside release

With deliveries of the first new Pontiac G8’s due to take place in late August in North America it seemed fitting to have a quick pictorial review. Of course, we know the G8 as the Holden VE Commodore in Australia.

GM have recently been getting out and about with production ready versions of the G8 in the states at numerous events, including the Woodward Dream Cruise where these pictures were taken.

The entry level G8 will feature the same 3.6-litre Alloytec V6 that is found in our Commodore while the G8 GT will pack the 6.0-litre Chev V8 that we have come to know and love.

The G8 V6 variant features a five-speed automatic gearbox while the GT V8 is available with either a six-speed automatic or six-speed manual gearbox, much like our own Commodore…

As reported earlier this year there has been an E-Series HSV spotted in Michigan which has led to speculation that our E-Series super sedan may be going under the knife in preparation for a possible debut as the next Pontiac GXP.
