Not to be outdone by GM's recent reveal of the Chevy Volt, Peugeot has taken the wraps of its Prologue concept vehicle, ahead of the expected reveal at the upcoming Paris Motor Show. Said to be derived from "the fusion of different worlds", the Prologue concept is touted by Peugeot as being a 'new' type of vehicle.

Peugeot has explained that it is anticipating future trends with the Prologue and has combined a raft of innovative ideas within the concept's architecture, style, interior ambience and new generation hybrid drive-train.

The 150kW engine is claimed to produce only 109 g/km of C0² in the combined city cycle while emissions drop to zero when running in all-electric mode.

Specifics beyond this will have to wait until the Paris Motor Show next month. With admirable performance and surprisingly pleasant aesthetics, the Prologue reveals what we might expect when Peugeot gets serious about a production hybrid.
