Peugeot, Citroen and DS customers in Australia will now receive free mapping updates to satellite navigation software as part of scheduled servicing.

The new program, called MapCare, ensures factory-fitted sat-navs are as up-to-date as possible when roads and speed limits change as the vehicle ages.

In some cases, a car is essentially ‘stuck’ with the maps loaded into the system when it was purchased, or owners find the cost and hassle of upgrading them to be prohibitive.

The three French carmakers will now offer up to three free map updates included as part of scheduled servicing over the first three years of ownership.

“We want the purchase of a vehicle to be as simple as possible, and with MapCare owners will not have to worry about the cost of updates to the navigation system in their Peugeot, Citroen or DS vehicle,” General Manager of Peugeot, Citroen and DS in Australia, John Startari, said.
