It's no secret that Pagani is working on a successor to its indomitable Zonda, yet while the bubble-canopied Zonda was an uber-exclusive low-production supercar (less than 100 have been built to date), the new car will be built in far greater volumes.

Pagani therefore has commenced preparations for a new factory, to be built in Ferrari's hometown of Modena, Italy, and will be three times the size of the marque's current manufacturing facility. Almost the entire car, which is provisionally known as the C9, will be built on-site, with only the AMG-sourced engine being shipped-in pre-assembled.

Pagani's new factory is expected to come online sometime in 2010, when C9 production begins.
