Good news for GT-R lovers this morning with Japan's BestCar magazine revealing Nissan's plans to reincarnate the LM or Le Mans edition GT-R. While the standard GT-R might be quick, it won't hold a candle to the awe-inspiring LM edition which is expected to sport around 445kWs and feature a veritable cornucopia of go-fast bits.

Not since the late 90s has Nissan produced a LM edition GT-R. Back then, the R33-based example, available only in Competition Blue, was sold in limited numbers while Nissan competed in the Le Mans GT1 class (with minimal success).

Things could be similar this time around with Nissan said to be preparing an assault on the Le-Mans series, which would require a homologation model. If history repeats itself then the news from BestCar could be right on the money.

Massive brakes, light-weight alloy wheels, track-focused suspension and upgrades to the gearbox and aerodynamics package are all expected to feature on the LM Limited. Couple this with the reported 445kW output and the GT-R's stunning ability to bend the laws of physics, and the LM edition is shaping up to be the thing of teenage wet-dreams.

Rest assured we'll be keeping our eyes and ears out for anything new on the R35 GT-R LM. Stay tuned, we love a good treasure hunt...
