Nissan R35 GT-R Spec-V speculation

Well, we know, or at least we think we do, that Nissan will be renaming their hi-po version of the new R35 GT-R, the 'Spec-V' and not the 'V-Spec' as it was in R32-33-34 guise.

Generally thought to be set for a 2010 debut, the Spec-V is real and Japanese mag Best Car have published an image and spec sheet. Now, how authentic these are is debatable, as the Japanese mags love to photoshop their favourite cars, but even if its not an official leak it is perhaps an idea of what we could expect.

According to Best Car, the Spec-V will be substantially lighter than the standard GT-R, no doubt making plentiful use of carbon-fibre in the fight against flab. The Spec-V should also feature reworked suspension and through some judicious recalibration, a more frantic all-wheel-drive system.

Rumours of more power abound but there is nothing official to indicate that the Spec-V will be angrier in the engine department. Previous generation V-Specs did not feature a power boost but there is no reason, yet, to suspect that Nissan won’t wind up the boost a little…especially given the importance of Nurburgring lap times to this manufacturer.
