There is Nissan GT-R news aplenty this-morning. First off, the harder hitting V-Spec GT-R has made its way to the Nurburgring for testing. Still a mystery in some ways, the V-Spec is believed to be sporting an extra 52kW, lifting output from 358kW to 410kW! Not that anyone really believes Nissans grossly understated power figures ? when it comes to their flagship performance car they have been telling little white lies for years.
So, expect it to be damn fast, in fact the V-Spec is said to be capable of a 7:25 lap of the ?Ring, 18 seconds faster than the standard GT-R and into seriously serious supercar territory! Is there no stopping the rampage that this car is on?
Changes that affect the V-Spec?s appearance are subtle and consist of a more aggressive front splitter, additional cooling ducts in the front bar and unique six-spoke alloys that appear to be wrapped around a new carbon-ceramic brake set. You can check out the spy images here.
Nissan are using carbon-fibre panels and other weight saving technologies to drop 150kg from the weight of the standard GT-R. There is no word on pricing but the whispers to-date suggest that the V-Spec will carry a very hefty premium.
Unlike previous generation GT-R?s, this is not a standard GT-R with a different diff and some added drivetrain trickery ? the new V-Spec is a completely revised version of the already astounding base GT-R ? and that is going to cost!
