NISSAN HAS TEAMED up with SUNA, Australia's first digital traffic information service, to provide customers with live GPS-based traffic conditions.

Standard with GPS-equipped Nissan X-Trail Ti and TL models and the Nissan Patrol Ti, the service offers motorists up-to-the-minute details on accidents, road closures, traffic congestion, major road works and special events.

The SUNA Traffic Channel, operated by Intelematics Australia, is available in Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Adelaide and Perth.

The service uses tens of thousands of traffic sensors, supplemented by other sources such as freeway sensors, tow truck allocations, traffic cameras and probe vehicles, to monitor traffic activity.

The SUNA Traffic Channel is available for most in-dash and window-mounted GPS devices, including models offered by Garmin, Navigon, Navman, TomTom and in certain Ford and Toyota models.

Once activated, the SUNA Traffic Channel is a free service.
