It hasn’t even gone on sale yet but Toyota is already tinkering with its new Supra sports car.

The Japanese giant unveiled the Supra TRD Production Concept at the 2019 Osaka motor show this week, a show famous for its customisation. TRD, which stands for Toyota Racing Development is the company’s performance parts division and has designed a new, more aerodynamic bodykit for the new coupe.

There’s a new front splitter, door inserts, side skirts, rear deck spoiler and lower rear bumper that the company claims improves the aerodynamic efficiency of the car. And all the parts are made from carbon fibre, to save weight and help them stand out.

The TRD edition rolls on new look 19-inch forged alloy wheels too.

Mechanically the car is unchanged with the same 3.0-litre six-cylinder engine under the bonnet.

At this stage Toyota and TRD haven’t confirmed if these parts will go into production but given the history of modified Supras it seems like a safe bet.
