The Porsche that is too shiny to drive on the road
There are many reasons why a vehicle could be taken off the road by police, but being too shiny has to be a new one for the books.
AP reported that Police pulled the German over once and ordered him to remove the wrap, stating that it was a blinding hazard to others on the road.
The driver refused, was pulled over again and had his keys, papers and license plate taken and his Porsche impounded.
He was also dealt a heavy fine and told to remove the wrap before he could have his cars and papers returned.
Does this set a precedent?
Maybe in Germany, but for now the application of chrome wraps in Australia is neither illegal nor legal.
There is no actual legislation on chrome wrapping which makes it completely fine for installers to put on your vehicle.
Justin Bieber didn’t have his obnoxiously wrapped Fisker Karma taken off him back in 2012 in California either and that car looked more like a liquid metal Terminator than a vehicle.
If those laws change in the future, the good news is that wraps can be easily and safely removed from your vehicle.
