Audi Unveils Plans For Even More SUVs
German car maker Audi is opening the floodgates when it comes to the SUV market, announcing at its annual general meeting that its range would be much larger before the end of the year.
Top executives at the company revealed that another seven SUV variants would be introduced before the calendar ticked over into 2020, with the new models being variations of models already in the already-expansive range rather than completely new models.
Six of the seven were alluded to in the meeting, with two revealed to be ‘sportback’-badged SUVs like the Q3 Sportback and the all-electric E-Tron Sportback.
Sportback simply means that Audi has found a new term for coupe-SUVs.
Another two of the six mentioned would be “particularly sporty versions” of Audi’s flagship Q8 SUV, with international media spying vehicles presumed to be the vehicles in question—the SQ8 and the RS Q8—undergoing testing on multiple occasions.
Audi also revealed that an RS Q3 was also on the cards, while an SQ3 variant is likely the sixth SUV Audi’s on about.
