Maserati has announced that it will be relaunching its popular Quattroporte in Australia and it will be sporting a new smile and some new technology.

The Quattroporte is the most successful Maserati ever, with world-wide sales exceeding 15,000 units and a trophy cabinet bursting at the seams having collected 46 international awards.

The Maserati flagship is now represented by two models that expand the Maserati sedan?s range: the Quattroporte and the Quattroporte S.

The former is fitted with the familiar 4.2-litre 298kW/400hp V8 engine, while the latter adopts the new 4.7-litre 320kW/430hp V8 recently introduced on the GranTurismo S. Both variants will offer distinctly different specifications. The Quattroporte in both guises is equipped with the renowned six-speed ZF automatic transmission.

Pininfarina is responsible for the nip and tuck that has more than a hint of GranTurismo about it, thanks largely to the new grille with its vertical slats. The front and rear light units have been updated, featuring LED?s designed to enhance both appearance and safety. New door mirrors, restyled bumpers and under-door mouldings also add to the new look.

The interior has a new central console where the controls are grouped more closely together for more convenient operation. The Navigation system is also fully updated and now comprises the New Maserati Multimedia System.

Two new shades of leather are available; Marrone Corniola and Sabbia. The new colours replace the beige which was previously in the range.

The Maserati Quattroporte will make its Australian and New Zealand public debut at the Australian International Motor Show in October, with deliveries of the new car starting early in the new year. Existing owners will also be invited to private and exclusive viewings of the new car in Australia and New Zealand.
