It is certainly a golden era for manufacturers of performance and luxury cars with many manufacturers locking in healthy profits and in the case of Maserati their first profit for 17 years.
Mercedes-Benz have also reported their second-quarter figures and the result is a healthy profit of $US1.95 billion (from sales of US$17.26 billion), almost double the profit recorded for the same period last year.
Mercedes-Benz have their new C-Class to thank for at least some of the impressive improvement. The most affordable way to get behind the wheel of the three pointed stars saloon range, the new C-Class is performing well. Aimed at a younger buyer than has been traditional for the C-Class the new more ?driver oriented? design is obviously working.
