The new Audi A4 has recently been awarded the top rating of 5 stars by Euro NCAP following testing for passive crash safety. The results achieved by the new Audi A4 for adult protection in frontal and side crashes as well as child and pedestrian protection make it one of the safest vehicles in its class.

Only recently launched in Australia, the all new mid-sized contender from Audi, was put to the test for passive vehicle safety by the Euro NCAP consortium and came away with the maximum 5 star rating for driver and passenger safety in frontal and side impacts. Child safety rated a credible 4 stars.

Audi have also given thought to the safety of pedestrians and cyclists, an area often given little credence by vehicle designers. The result from the recent round of testing is a 2 star rating out of a possible 4 stars for this category.

The new Audi A4 range offers all of the usual active and passive safety features that we have come to expect from the premium German marques, including standard ESP with brake assist.

Optional driver assistance systems previously only seen in the upper echelon of luxury-class automobiles are now also available on the A4. These include a radar-supported adaptive cruise control system with Audi braking guard that actively warns the driver in several stages of an impending collision, Audi lane assist and Audi side assist.
