Volkswagen details its new Touareg Monochrome edition.
The German brand's local arm is launching a new Monochrome edition which adds a range of cosmetic upgrades and some extra standard kit.
Pricing for the special edition kicks off a $74,990 before on-road costs, which is $6000 more than the entry-level Touareg 150TDI it is based on.
The Monochrome edition adds a number of black exterior body elements including mirror caps, lower front grille and roof rails along with exterior badging, dark tinted LED taillights and new 19-inch alloy wheels.
Inside, two-tone black and grey leather trim upholstery, ventilated front seats and brushed aluminum and black dashboard inserts highlight the styling upgrades, while a black headliner continues the monochrome theme.
Extra gear compared to the stock 150TDI extends to adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, keyless entry and ignition, heated steering wheel with paddle shifters, 65 per cent tinted rear windows and proactive occupant protection which tightens seatbelts and closes windows if an imminent accident is detected.
Only three exterior paint options are available; white, grey and black.
Power comes from the same 150kW/450Nm 3.0-litre V6 turbo diesel as the regular 150TDI.
The Touareg Monochrome is now available in local showrooms.
