Owners of Volkswagen’s Amarok V6 ute are advised that their vehicle falls under a recall action regarding the power steering system.

The recall centres around an incorrectly fitted clip that may damage the power steering return hose. The damage may lead to a power steering fluid leak, which in severe cases could result in a loss of hydraulic assistance.

The safety risk stems from the unexpected loss of steering assistance, with heavier than normal steering leading to a potential risk to vehicle occupants and other road users.

Volkswagen will attempt to contact concerned owners of 2017 and 2018 model year vehicles to notify them to arrange an inspection and repair free of charge. Owners wishing to know more can contact their local Volkswagen dealer or Volkswagen Customer Care on 1800 607 822.
