Skoda has revealed a rugged-looking Scout model to join the compact Karoq SUV line-up.

Adding some practical and some adventure-style parts to its new crossover, the Czech brand’s latest Scout variant will be presented during the Paris motor show in October this year.

Skoda has detailed additions to the model which will go on-sale in Europe before other markets though Skoda Australia is yet to confirm if the model be made available locally.

Like all Scout models before it, the Karoq Scout will come standard with all-wheel drive and have the option of three different powertrains – a 1.5-litre petrol TSI110 producing 110kW and either a 2.0-litre diesel TDI110 or TDI140 producing 110kW and 140Kw respectively. All drivelines are available with either a six-speed manual or seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission except the 140TDI which comes standard with the DSG auto.

Focusing on looking like an off-road capable car, the Scout gets chunky lower black skirts with silver inserts, tinted windows, slimline black fender guards and matching silver roof rails and mirror caps. Scout lettering features on the front guards over unique 18- and 19-inch alloy wheel options.

Inside are re-trimmed black and brown fabric seats with contrasting brown stitching and ‘Scout’ embroidery on the front headrests. A leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel is standard along with LED ambient lighting package and an 8.0-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

Optional is a 12.3-inch virtual cockpit display for the driver with special off-road customised screen and an electric opening tailgate and configurable boot storage system.
