New SKODA Fabia Prices and Specifications

Skoda has updated its Fabia and Rapid, adding more safety and tech as well as a five-year unlimited kilometre warranty.

The Fabia now comes with a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine that produces 70kW of power and 160Nm of torque with a manual transmission and an increased 81kW of power and 200Nm of torque when fitted with the dual-clutch automatic transmission.

As standard, the city-sized hatch comes with safety features like AEB, reverse camera, six airbags and tyre pressure monitoring.

Tech highlights also includes a 6.5-inch infotainment system with bluetooth, Apple Carplay, Android Auto and voice control.

An optional sports pack costing $1800 gives you sports suspension, a choice of 16-inch or 17-inch wheels, rear parking sensors, tinted windows, cruise control with speed limiter, a flat bottom steering wheel and front centre armrest.

A premium sports pack is available for $3600 that includes the features mentioned above plus adaptive cruise control, advanced keyless entry with smart start and alarm, two usb ports for back seat occupants, fatigue detection and digital radio.

Skoda also offers a vision pack for the Fabia which includes LED headlights, front fog lights, rain-sensing wipers, auto-dimming mirror, blind spot detection, rear traffic alert and led taillights for an extra $1800.

A special edition Monte Carlo will also be available for customers for $25,490 in the hatch and $26,990 in the wagon.

The Monte Carlo edition features 17-inch torino wheels, sports seats, sports pedals and a flat bottom steering wheel with red stitching.

The Fabia Monte Carlo comes with blacked-out mirrors, front grille frame, roof spoiler, side skirts, spoiler on front bumper, sill plates and rear bumper diffuser. also featured on the b-pillars and front sill plates is the monte carlo logo.

Metallic paint will cost an extra $500 on the Fabia and a panoramic glass roof is $1000.

An upgraded 6.5-inch unit with sat nav is also available at a cost of $950.

The Fabia’s bigger brother, the Rapid has also received an updated my19 model.

The Rapid gets a 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine that produces 92kw of power and 200nm of torque paired to a seven-speed DSG transmission only.

Priced from $24,990 drive away, the Rapid comes standard with 17-inch alloy wheels, sports seats, digital radio, Apple Carplay and Android Auto, bi-xenon headlights, AEB, reverse camera, reversing sensors and driver fatigue detection.

Tinted windows, cruise control, rain-sensing wipers, sports pedals and a leather sports steering wheel also come standard.

Metallic paint on the Rapid costs $500.
