Nissan has revealed its updated Navara for 2018 that brings more equipment, safety and improved ride and handling.

The Japanese brand’s previous update received criticism for its poor cargo carrying and towing ability, but it says it has toughened up the suspension to "improve the ride, handling and steering" but won’t divulge any further technical details just yet.

It has, however, revealed details of the increased levels of equipment, and subsequent price rises, that will feature as part of the update.

Headlining new features is the addition of Nissan's 360-degree Around View monitor that’s incorporated in a 7.0-inch infotainment screen for the high-grade ST-X dual-cab and King Cab utes while a rear-view camera is now standard in all other grades. The latter displays vision on the infotainment screen in the SL, ST and ST-X models and in the rear-view mirror on the entry-level RX variants.

A digital speedometer is also part of standard equipment on all SL, ST and ST-X models as well as ISOFIX child seat anchors on outboard rear seats on all models.

Satellite navigation is now included on the ST King Cab which brings it in-line with its dual-cab equivalent. An optional leather interior trim is offered on all ST-X Dual Cab variants, and the ST-X King Cab with a seven-speed automatic, which brings heated front seats, leather accents on the door trim and eight-way electric adjustment on the driver's seat for an additional $1500.

Lower tie-down points on RS, SL and ST models improve load-carrying ability while the ST-X now features four additional tie-down hooks lower in the tub.

Pricing has crept up between $200 and $500 for eight of the 35 variants available due to the additional equipment that sees Single Cab models starting from $25,990, King Cabs from $28,490 and Dual Cabs from $33,490.
