Mercedes-Benz A250 coming to Oz
A more powerful version of the new-generation Mercedes-Benz A-Class hatch will arrive by the end of the year.
Mercedes-Benz has released pricing and specifications on the newest addition to the A-Class family.
Getting the same standard equipment as the A 200, the A 250 4MATIC will have more power from its larger-capacity four-cylinder turbo motor and more grip from its all-wheel drive transmission.
When it arrives next month, priced from $49,500 (plus on-roads), the A 250 is sure to be a crowd-pleaser with a claimed dash of 0-100km/h in 6.2 seconds thanks to 165kW of power and 350Nm of torque.
The revised 4MATIC transmission makes it capable of sending power to the rear-axle for improved launch when needed.
Included as standard on the new model is 18-inch aero alloy wheels, the full MBUX multimedia system with a widescreen cockpit, LED headlights, keyless start and wireless charging.
Standard safety equipment includes automated emergency braking, lane keeping assist, blind-spot assist, traffic sign assist, reverse camera and more.
Mercedes-Benz says the new A 250 4MATIC will only be available for a limited time in this specification, with a higher-grade model expected to join the range as a full-time model in 2019.
Pricing for the A-Class range:
A 200 - $47,200
A 250 4MATIC - $49,500
Pricing excludes on-road costs.
