Mazda has updated its flagship SUV with more features, chassis tweaks and a new range-topping grade.
On sale now, the entire lineup is bolstered by the introduction of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity to the MZD infotainment system while a heads-up display is fitted to all models.
Safety also sees an upgrade with the new base model Sport gaining Mazda’s i-Activesense assist, and all models are said to benefit from further refinement via steering and suspension changes and an overall reduction in noise, vibration and harshness.
But the new gear sees the entry-level Sport increase price by $1100 to start proceedings at $44,990 plus on-road costs. Added features are adaptive cruise control with stop and go function, lane keeping assist, traffic sign recognition and automatic highbeams as well as the omnipresent Apple/Android infotainment system and HUD.
Touring variants, priced from $51,390 plus on-road costs, gain new 18-inch alloy wheels, front fog lights, black leather trim with electric front seats, second row USB ports and a larger 8.0-inch touch-screen display.
Further up the range the previous top-line Azami gains a 360-degree camera, heated steering wheel and 7.0-inch display in the instrument cluster. It is priced at $60,990 plus on-roads.
The new Azami LE range-topper adds further luxury appointments such as real timber panel trims on the doors and around the console, Chroma Brown Nappa leather upholstery and an LED ambient lighting system. It is priced at $66,490 plus on-road costs.
As before all models are powered by a 2.5-litre petrol four-cylinder turbo petrol producing170kW and 420Nm through a six-speed automatic transmission to either the front or all-four wheels.
