Mazda adds Apple Carplay to old models
Mazda has answered the call for customers wanting more tech in their vehicles.
From today, some Mazda owners will be able to upgrade to a smartphone mirroring kit including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The upgrade kit is only available for vehicles with the MZD Connect infotainment unit, first introduced in Australia in early 2014.
A recommended fitted price of $494.98 has been given by Mazda Australia and installation of the software and hardware is said to take several hours.
Mazda says customers interested or wanting further information about the upgrade are encouraged to visit their nearest Mazda dealership.
The brand has also confirmed all new vehicles launched in Australia will be fitted with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Vinesh Bhindi from Mazda Australia says the introduction of the tech into the brand's existing offerings will give Australians another reason to choose Mazda.
“We are especially happy that it is something we can offer our existing community of customers,” he says.
