Lincoln gets orchestral chimes
Ford’s luxury car division has employed an orchestra to play sweet tunes for its passengers.
The US car brand’s goal is set to increase the level of ambience in the cabin.
When Lincoln’s new flagship Aviator SUV is revealed at the Los Angeles Motor Show next month it will have some bells and whistles - literally.
The Lincoln Aviator will feature six different alert chimes created by members of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra using a blend of percussion instruments, violin and viola with plans to eventually expand the instrumental sounds across the entire line-up.
Chimes will sound to warn drivers for things like an open fuel door, unbuckled seat belt, the lowering of the power tail gate and more.
