Lexus has revealed an updated version of its luxury sports coupe, the RC.

It will launch at the Paris Motor Show in October, and by the end of 2018 will already be in showrooms in Japan.

While much of the RC's characteristics have been retained, Lexus has taken inspiration from the brand's signature design and driving dynamics in it's luxury coupe, the LC.

Aerodynamics have been given a fine-tune with a new fin shape on the side window mould and a duct on the rear bumper to improve air flow, as well as improvements to the tyres and suspension.

Engine response and steering feel have also been re-touched in an attempt to provide a "sharper and more refined" experience.

Throttle response of the 2.0-litre turbocharged engine has been improved, with Lexus saying you can expect a "more direct feeling of acceleration".

The RC models will now have new shock absorbers and stiffer suspension bushings for a smoother ride and more dynamic handling.

Aesthetically, updated design elements include a front bumper corner that flows down from the headlamps and a grille mesh pattern that appears to change shapes from top to bottom.

Another upgrade you'll find on the new RC is its vertically arranged triple LED headlamps and new L-shaped LED clearance lamps. And its tail lamps have received more pronounced L-shaped lenses.

Attention to detail is high in the RC's cabin with a tweaked palm rest that has changed in shape with added stitching to the surface.

An analog clock now sits above the instrument panel as it does in the LC models.

Full details for Australian models have yet to be confirmed, but it is expected to arrive in local showrooms from early next year.
