Kia has teased the most important part of its third-generation ProCeed.

Now becoming a five-door shooting brake wagon, the new model will feature a vastly different rear-end to the hatchback before it.

Based on the striking concept car revealed at last year’s Frankfurt motor show, the sleek model simplifies the previous three-door Pro_Cee’d hatchback's name and adds a bit of practicality with a longer boot and two extra doors.

The South Korean car maker has only teased an image of the rear, straight-on and in the shadows, highlighting the sleek led taillight bar, boot-mounted lip spoiler and easier to pronounce name underneath, but Kia says the rest of the car will be revealed on September 13 - just over two weeks before the model's public debut at the Paris motor show in October.

Locally, the Proceed has been missing for the last three years and counting, and it doesn’t seem likely that the new model will make it here either, with Kia saying in its teaser release that the new model has been “Designed, developed and engineered exclusively for Europe.”

Instead, and as reported by Drive last year, the local arm wants to replace the Pro_Cee’d GT with the new Cerato GT hatchback.
