Jeep is preparing for the landing of the next-generation Wrangler with two run-out specials.

The American car brand has turned up the patriotism with its two special editions of the iconic off-roader: the Wrangler Golden Eagle and Wrangler Freedom Edition.

Limited to just 120 examples, the Golden Eagle is based on the Wrangler Sport and features unique touches including 18-inch bronze painted aluminium wheels, Golden Eagle bonnet decals, bronze touches on the grille and headlight surrounds, a tan soft top and body colour fender flares.

Inside, the Golden Eagle adds Alpine premium speakers, a 5.0-inch touchscreen, black cloth upholstery with bronze stitching and embroidered 'Golden Eagle' logo on the front seats, vinyl door armrest and centre console lid with bronze stitching along with 'Moroccan Sun' coloured highlights throughout.

Power for the Golden Eagle edition comes from a 3.6-litre V6 petrol that makes 209kW and 347Nm and is paired to either a five-speed manual or six-speed auto driving all four wheels. The Golden Eagle is available as either a two- or four-door model.

The Golden Eagle is priced from $42,990 before on-road costs, which is $4000 more than the Wrangler Sport it is based on.

Jeep's second special edition is the Wrangler Freedom which pays homage to the brand's military heritage and is fitted with several 'Oscar Mike' logos that in the phonetic alphabet stand for 'OM' which generally means 'on-the-move'.

Along with the 'Oscar Mike' badges, the Freedom Edition also features a range of decals and badges of the 'Freedom Star', 'trail rated' badge and a black grille.

Other touches include 18-inch black painted alloy-wheels, rock rails and a black soft top.

Inside, the limited edition scores a combination of black leather, vinyl and cloth trim throughout that features silver stitching and an embossed 'Oscar Mike' logo and a 'Jeep' stitched logo. A number of silver and chrome touches throughout continue the Freedom Edition's colour scheme.

The Freedom Edition is limited to 150 examples and again is based on the Wrangler Sport model with prices starting from $43,990 before on-road costs.

Power comes from the same 3.6-litre petrol unit as the Golden Eagle but is only available with an automatic transmission. The Freedom Edition is also available in two- and four-door layouts.
